Meet Walter Melon (Keyboards)

Cleveland born Walter Melon recently won the “Making the Dick Diamond Band” reality series televised on Skokie’s public access station channel 12 by beating out three other contestants (it should be pointed out that one was blind, another had only seven fingers from a carpeting accident, and the third was hearing impaired.) It was a heated competition including grueling events such as “name that goon” (trivia of bullies from history, TV, and mob movies), playing skills assessment after downing eight shots of Canadian Mist and various illegal substances, and adjusting his weight so that Dick would not have to pay the alteration fees for the costumes left behind by the departing keyboardist.  In the 80's, Melon honed his craft while doing double duty as organist for the local Church of Religious Consciousnesses and in the bar band “the Hedons”.  In the 70's, Melon had the honor of appearing on game shows such as the Match Game, the Dating Game, and the Newlyweds Game (in which he was on a record five times).
